In 1995 The Banks Group set up a charitable fund
with the help of County Durham Foundation.
The Banks Community
Fund supports local environmental and community improvement projects in
the areas surrounding The Banks Group’s operations. Monies come
via the Landfill Communities Fund (landfill tax credits), wind farm developments,
open-cast coal mines and property developments. County Durham Foundation
is the registered Environmental Body that administers the Landfill Communities
Fund on behalf of The Banks Community Fund.
We believe that ‘Development with Care’ is central
to the aims and objectives of our business. The phrase ideally describes
how we deal with people inside and outside our company and is the guiding
principle of the way we want to carry out our business at all times.
We look for opportunities to make a real difference in the community and provide lasting benefits. It is this ethos that led us to establish The Banks Community Fund.
